• Newton’s ring set with holder.
• Mercury Lamp with power supply, fan and lamp housing.
• Convex lens, f= 50 mm with holder.
• Optical filter with holder.
• White metallic Screen with holder.


In this experiment, we can study the interference and its type that is newton’s ring is interference fringes of equal thickness.
To determine the wave length of the light source by using
D = diameter of the fringes.
M = no. of fringes.
R = radius of curvature.
? = wavelength of light source.
In this experiment, we can see the fringes in white screen.
