Overview

  • Ohm’s Law:

    Ohm’s Law states that the current through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage across it and inversely proportional to the resistance. The formula is:

    V=IR

  • Resistance in Series Circuits:

    In a series circuit, the total resistance is the sum of individual resistances. The current is the same throughout, but voltage divides across resistors.

    Rtotal = R1+R2+⋯+Rn

  • Resistance in Parallel Circuits:

    In a parallel circuit, the total resistance is found by the reciprocal of the sum of the reciprocals of individual resistances. Voltage across each resistor is the same, and current divides among branches.
