ORIFICE AND FREE JET FLOW
ORIFICE AND FREE JET FLOW allows the students to study the profile of a water jet and determining the contraction coefficient for different orifices.
It consists of a transparent acrylic tank that enables to maintain a constant head, a level gauge and a panel for visualizing the jet paths.
The water is supplied to the module from hydraulic bench and the flow rate measured using the volumetric tank. Two orifices of different diameter are placed in the base of the tank. They can be easily exchanged. The trajectory of the jet can be drawn by following the position of some vertical needles placed in an annexed panel. These are adjusted by means of some screws with command. This panel includes a silk screen scale that enables to measure the profile of the jet. Adjustable feet permit leveling.
